Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere! And there's loads of them at this workshop in Brighton. But kids aren't just here to carve pumpkins. So, what are they up to?
So, first we carved pumpkins, as you can see. I made just a person with a bow and then she's made a cat.
We didn't just waste the inside. And we made these yummy snacks, like these monster cookies.
We made little dishes – pumpkin dumplings, pumpkin cookies.
Yum! Dumplings and cookies. Sounds pretty good to me.
So, why is it important that we don't waste the inside of our pumpkins?
There's no point in throwing away pumpkins when you can reuse them.
So, if you throw food away, it'll just be a waste of money.
So, chucking it away is a waste when we could be making biscuits, dumplings and all sorts of delicious goodies.
Did you know you could do so much with your pumpkins?
Um, no, not until today.
Not until today, actually. I thought you could just make pumpkin soup and that's it really.
Or, like, just carving.
I didn't know. I thought pumpkins were only used for Halloween, to carve the face and make them scary. But I didn't know you could make things out of pumpkin with the seeds and stuff.
Well, I best get my apron on too. Remember, if you're carving or cooking with pumpkins, always ask an adult to help you. Happy cooking!
